In 6th grade Art students will discover the world of creativity using art as a dynamic lens to explore critical thinking and innovative expression. This course delves into various artistic mediums, fostering the development of visual problem-solving skills, nurturing individuality, and cultivating the ability to translate abstract concepts into tangible creations.

  • How do I think like an artist?

  • How can I apply my artistic thinking outside of the art classroom?

  • How can I use art to communicate my ideas and feelings?

Fantasy World Maps

Students are creating watercolor maps for a world all their own.  We are studying fantasy maps from literature and using our observations to craft our own work.  Along the way we are learning about the Studio Habits of Mind as we think like artists.
